What is Email Forwarding?
Email Forwarding through Enom (Colony One - Domain Registrar) is simply an automatic email forwarding service. People address email to your mailbox at your domain name (User@Domain.com), and Enom forwards it to your "real" email address at Hotmail, Google Mail, or wherever. It’s an option that gives you an easy way to reinforce your branding.

How do I set up Email Forwarding?
Go to https://access.enom.com/
Login with your Enom Domain and Password. *For Password Resets, contact the Colony One Support Team.
Across from Email Settings, click Edit
In the Service Selection menu, select Email Forwarding.
In the Username column, type the User Name part of the Email Address.
In the Forward To column, type the forwarding email address, such as your Hotmail or Google Mail address.
Click Add New to add another mailbox.
When you finish adding mailboxes, click Save.

What is an SSL Certificate?
SSL Certificates enable you and your customers to complete transactions with the assurance that no one else can read or change information as it travels over the Internet. This leads to increased visitor conversion rate, lower Web site abandonment and an increase in average purchase price. Why would I need an SSL Certificate?

Note to COOLSite Customers
By default we allow you to use our *.colony1.net secure certificate for the checkout area to reduce costs on your end. You will see this in the address bar of your browser when you click Go To Check Out. So basically upon check out, the browser is going from your domain and then redirected to *.colony1.net until the checkout is complete and then it goes back to your domain. Routing to our *.colony1.net cert is just not professional and also can scare some customers away due to the browser warnings. The most professional thing to do is get your own SSL Certificate so you have continued branding and trust. Any professional company that processes credit cards has their own SSL Certificate for their own domain.

Domain Name Privacy

Domain Name Privacy

When you register a domain name either through us directly or any domain registrar, your contact information is always available on the WHOIS public database which anyone can access. If you have purchased a domain name through us and wish to have your contact information private on the WHOIS database, then we can set this up for you for $10 per each year that you have registered this domain name for, and this can be requested / added on after your domain name has been registered through us. If you are interested in having this domain privacy added to your domain name, then please let us know so that we can add it for you. If you have any other questions, please let us know.

Transfer a Domain from Colony One to another Registrar

If you originally registered your domain at Colony One and would like to transfer it to another registrar.

Go to http://www.enom.com/whois/whois.aspx to do a Whois on your domain to see it's current settings. Scroll down and the email address under Administrative:" is where all automatic email sending and approval will be sent to by our Registrar. If that email address is not correct then let us know and we will update it.

At this point you should have already paid for a domain transfer at your new registrar. Upon your request, we will Unlock your Domain and email the Authorization EPP key to the Administrative email address mentioned above. You will then need to enter/submit that Authorization EPP key into the proper place at your new registrar. Once submitted, your new registrar will send us a final email to the Administrative email address asking to accept the domain transfer. Once accepted, your Transfer will be completed automatically within 5 -7 business days.

In Summary: Once we update you as the Administrative contact email address, Unlock the domain, and send you the Authorization EPP key, all communication/approval/transfer emails will go directly to you so you will be able to do the transfer on your own without further tasks from us.

Domain Name Forwarding

If you have multiple domains and want to forward one of your domains to another domain you should use domain forwarding at the domain registrar. (eg. Forwarding/Redirecting your .org domain to your .com domain)

Only if you purchased the domain directly through us then you will need to obtain the domain registrar login from us to do this.

Transfer an Existing Domain Name to Colony One

If you would like to Transfer your domain name from another registrar/host to have the domain registered/hosted with Colony One then please do the following:

There will be a $20 fee for the transfer which also includes an extra year of domain registration on top of your existing registered time. You do not lose any time or pay for overlapping months. A transfer adds a full year to the current expiration date. Please submit your transfer requests well in advance of the expiration date. We are not responsible for domains that expire prior to a successful transfer.

Please login to your domain registrar account to do the following:
a) Unlock the Domain.
b) Change the administrative/registrant Contact E-Mail address to dns@colony1.net so we can approve all emails.
c) Obtain the EPP transfer authorization code key prior to submitting your transfer request.
*Note: if preferred you can send us the login to your domain registrar account and we will do these steps for you.

When all 3 steps above are done then email us your authorization code key.
We will then start the transfer which will e-mail the current domain registrant contact for authorization which should now be dns@colony1.net per step b) above. The email will contain a link to a webpage to choose Accept/Submit of the transfer. After the emailed link is accepted/submitted it will take 3-8 days for the domain to be transferred.

How To Expedite (Accept) a Domain Transfer From GoDaddy
After you do the final step above, (emailed link is accepted/submitted), GoDaddy, which has the longest delay, can take 5+ days to transfer. If you would like to immediately approve the transfer then do the following:
1) Sign in to your GoDaddy account.
2) Select the "Domain Manager" option from the left column, to see list of domains.
3) Mouse over the "Domains" tab (top of page) and select the "Pending Transfers".
4) Click on the check box next to the domain name.
5) Click on the now highlighted Accept/Decline option above the check box.
6) Select Accept and click Submit.
7) Wait an hour and then confirm the transfer is done by using whois or other method.

Point your existing Domain to your Website

How to point your existing Domain Name to your website

1. Email Information. If you have e-mail accounts associated with this domain name (example: Info@MyDomain.Com), please e-mail Support@Colony1.Net with your MX Records and any other e-mail related DNS information, so that we can setup these records accordingly in our DNS. You can obtain any DNS / e-mail / MX record information from your e-mail provider.

** Please do not proceed past this point until we are able to configure your e-mail / MX records in our DNS. Once we receive the record information from you, and have setup the necessary records for your domain name in our DNS, we will notify you to proceed with the steps below. If you do not use e-mail with this domain name, you can proceed with the steps below. **

2. Login to your Domain Control Panel via the Domain Registrar where you purchased your domain name from (i.e, GoDaddy) and update / set your existing Name Servers to point to the following two records: DNS1.Colony1.Net, DNS2.Colony1.Net.

If you have a Custom Site (and not a COOLSite) your website may utilize different Colony One Name Servers. Please e-mail Support@Colony1.Net to verify the Name Servers that you will need to use for your website.

3. If you have a COOLSite, login to your COOLSite Admin and click "Domain Registration" from the menu on the left. Under the "Connect Your Own Domain" section, type your domain name into the "Domain Name" box (example: if the domain name is MyDomain.Com, you will type MyDomain into this box) and select the appropriate domain extension from the drop-down selection box (.com, .net. etc...). When done, click the "Connect This Domain Now" button.

Note: It can take up to 24 hours for your domain name to show your COOLSite.
