Change Design

Your template is what defines the overall look / design of your website. This can include specific color schemes, layouts, etc... We have a gallery of free templates that you can browse through and apply to your website. Please see below for instructions on how to choose / change the template on your COOLSite.

1. Select A New Design

Click on the "Change Design" button from the menu on the left in your COOLSite Admin.
Select from the categories below to find a template for your site.

Once you have found a template you like, click on the thumbnail image and then click on the "Apply This Theme/Template Now!" button at the top of the following page, to apply this template design to your website.

2. Apply Saved Content

After updating a template the system automatically backs up any content that you added in the “Configure Layout” regions of your template.
This content needs to be applied to the new template that you have selected.
After you clicked the “Apply This Theme/Template Now!” button, the system automatically takes you to the “Configure Layout” area which is where you can re-apply this saved content following these steps:

A) Click into any of the “Configure Layout” regions on your new template and scroll down to the “Saved Content Library” section on the following page.

B) You can click on the “Preview” link associated with any of your Saved Content, to view the content.

C) When you find the content that you would like to reload into the specific region that you are within currently (ie: Header, Footer, etc…), you will need to click on the corresponding “Load to Editor” link. When prompted to save the current content to your “Saved Content Library”, you can choose to do so or not, depending on your preference.

D) You will now see the content that was reloaded from your “Saved Content Library”, in the editor box.

E) Click on the “Apply to Site Now” button below the editor box, to save your content to this region.

You can repeat the above steps as needed, to reload content from your “Saved Content Library” to the various “Configure Layout” regions on your new template.

Configure Layout

Configure Layout is used for images, logos and contact information that you may wish to see on every page of your COOLSite. This is different from Pages, as only the given page will display when clicked on from your navigation menu.

To use Configure Layout, login to your admin area and under My Websites click Configure Layout.

This will give you the different areas (header, footer, top, and bottom navigation) of the template on your site, which will be displayed on all of your pages.

Click on a section to add your photo or company logo, the section you choose will now load into our editor for you to edit and submit changes.

You can also save any of these areas to your Library, before you make any changes. If you don't like what you have changed, you can load the information back to the appropriate area.

You can also manage the content you have saved above by clicking on Configure Layout>Manage Saved Content. In this area, you edit, view or delete your Saved Content. You can also access the Configure Layout area for the particular content you have previously saved.

The "Change Design" area in the COOLSite Admin has many templates to choose from for your website. However, if you are looking for a unique / custom template, we have some options below that you can choose from.

1) Customize Existing COOLSite Templates

The most affordable solution is to choose a template from the "Change Design" area and make customizations to it. In most cases, simply creating a custom header graphic with a logo, images, contact info, etc... is enough to make your website look unique and custom.

2) Pre-built Templates

You can go to any Template Design site to see if there are any templates that you like. We have suggested some of these websites below for your convenience.
If you find a template that you like on any Template Design site, then please e-mail us with information on how we can pull up this template on our end (ie: the website address and category / page where the template can be found, or a direct link to the template), so that we can review it and get you a quote on what the cost would be. Please note that templates containing flash or animated graphics usually lead to a higher cost. Therefore, you may want to avoid these types of templates if you are trying to keep the cost down.

3) Design a Template to your Specifications

We can design a template from scratch for you at an hourly rate. You can e-mail us with your ideas / specifications, so that we can review and get you a quote on what the cost would be. The more details you can provide to us, the better, so that we can get a clear understanding of what you have in mind.
Alternatively, you can also design a template yourself to show us exactly what you are looking for. This would typically involve you providing us with a single HTML file and images to be used on your template. You should have the proper knowledge / experience with HTML language when proceeding with this option, as the quote that we provide to you on what the cost would be, will depend on the clarity of your design and HTML.
