1) Click on “Add Page” from the left navigation menu in your admin area
2) Click on “Guestbook” and type in a name for your new Guestbook page. Then, click on “Add Page”
3) Click on the link above that says “Guest Book Settings”
4) The message within the editor box is what your customers will see as soon as they arrive at your Guestbook page. You can leave the default message as it is, or you can edit the text to reflect something of your own. Either
way, please be careful not to delete the words “here” (underlined in
blue) as this is actually a hyperlink to the guestbook form itself. In the event that you delete the link accidentally, you can recreate a link to the actual form page, by doing the following:
a. Create
a word or sentence in which you want to be the link. Next, highlight
the text to be a link and click the "Insert/Edit Link" icon on the
editor toolbar (indicated by a chain symbol). A small window will
pop-up. Type in “$addentryurl$” (without the quotation marks) into the
"Link URL" field. Additionally, in the "Target" field, you can specify
whether or not you would like the link to "open in this window/frame"
or "open in new window". Click the "Insert" button at the bottom of
the small window. The small window will close out and the text will now
be hyperlinked. Finally, click on “Submit” at the bottom of the Editor.
5) At this point, you have successfully added a Guestbook page to your site.
6) You can now view your website (by clicking on the “View Website” button at the top of your admin area). Then, click on your Guestbook page from your navigation menu.
7) Click on the hyperlink to the actual form page. Then, fill out the form and click on “Submit”. This will take you to another page that lists the entry you just entered. In the future, when you click on your Guestbook page from your website, you will see all of your guestbook entries.
8) You can also view your entries from within your admin area. To do this, you will need to click on “List Pages” from the left navigation menu. Then, select your guestbook page. Here, you will see all your current entries and you also have the option of editing or deleting an existing entry as well. Any edits or deleting of entries here will also update automatically on your website itself.
