Configuring your e-mail account on your Blackberry
Configuring your e-mail account on your Blackberry:

There are a few options / methods for configuring your e-mail account on your Blackberry device.  Below are a few ways that you can do so, starting with the most preferred / recommended option.


OPTION 1 - Configuring / Setting up your e-mail account directly from your Blackberry device.

1. Launch the "Personal Email Set Up" application on your Blackberry.

2. Login with your username and password if needed and under the "Services" heading, click on "Email Accounts".

3. Click on "Add An Email Acccount".

4. Enter your Email address and Password and click "Next" to continue.

5. You should now see a message indicating that you have successfully configured your email account.

6. Click "OK".

7. Logout / exit your Blackberry Internet browser.


NOTE: The instructions / steps above may vary by wireless carrier / Blackberry device


OPTION 2 - Configuring / Setting up your e-mail account through the Blackberry Internet Service website.

1. On your desktop computer, go to http://na.blackberry.com/eng/services/internet/email.jsp#tab_tab_desktop_setup.

2. Create an account / login if you already have a username and password.

3. Verify that your device information (PIN and IMEI #'s) is correct (Settings > Change Device).

4. Under the Services heading, click "Emai Accounts" and then click on the "Set Up Account" button under "Add An Existing Email Account".

5. Fill out the fields accordingly and proceed to adding your email account.

6. When done, you should receive a message saying "You have successfully configured access to: User@domain.com" (where User@domain.com is the email address in which you have added).

7. An icon for this email account should now appear on your Blackberry device and you should begin receiving emails sent to this email account on your Blackberry device as well.


NOTE: Some of the steps above may vary by wireless carrier


OPTION 3 - Configuring your BlackBerry to receive email through your blackberry.net account.

NOTE: This also configures your BlackBerry to send all outbound email replies through your mail.colony1.net mailbox.

1. Sign up with BlackBerry.net for an email address, i.e., username@blackberry.net.

2. Configure your mail.colony1.net account to auto forward email to username@blackberry.net.

3. Configure Blackberry to check BlackBerry.net email using one of the above options.

4. Set the Reply-To setting to your mail.colony1.net email address.
