"Security header is not valid" message at checkout
This article applies those that are using PayPal PRO as their payment gateway.

If you receive a message saying "security header is not valid" at the end of the checkout process in your shopping cart, then please follow these steps:

  • Login to your COOLSite Admin.
  • Under "My Catalog", click on "Configuration > Payment Processor > Real Time".
  • Confirm that the bubble next to "PayPal" is filled in. If not, then please click the bubble so that PayPal is selected as your payment gateway.
  • Make sure the checkbox next to "Active" is selected. If not, then click on the checkbox.
  • Make sure there are no extra spaces before or after the API Username.
  • Make sure there are no extra spaces before or after the API Password.
  • Make sure there are no extra spaces before or after the API Signature.
Try to run a test transaction. If you are still getting the same error message, then it is possible that the API info for your PayPal account is invalid. Always make sure to copy and paste the API info directly from PayPal's website into your COOLSite Admin. Never type the information in manually.

If you have gone through all the steps mentioned above and are still receiving the same error message, then please contact us at 954-341-7031 or email us at coolsitesupport@colony1.net.
